How do I obtain leave to attend a professional conference or meeting? prev next

With your department chair’s approval, you may be granted a leave (for no more than seven days) with full pay to attend a professional meeting or for University business. Arrangements must be made for your classes while you are gone, and you remain responsible for submitting course reports.

If your absence from campus will exceed seven days, you must fill out a University leave form, available from your department. Leaves in excess of seven calendar days must be approved in advance by the dean. If you fail to follow University policy, the University can deduct a proportionate amount from your paycheck. For further information, contact your unit head for departmental policies and procedures or check the Academic Personnel Manual, section 752.
