To comply with campus and systemwide policies and federal regulations, official campus websites must be accessible to people with disabilities. If this is not feasible, alternative methods must be made available to complete the same tasks. While you can't know what computer setup or software will be used to access your website, there are universal design steps you can take to maximize the accessibility of the content on your website.
The Office of Academic Compliance and Disability Standards has published the Campus Commitment to Technology Accessibility. A number of resources, as well as links to definitions of and standards for accessibility, are listed at this site. Webnet also has a list of resources, including "Top 10 Tips" (PDF) to making a website more accessible, produced by the campus WebAccess Group.
