How can I put print materials on reserve for my classes? prev next

Instructors may place course materials—such as books, articles, and videos—on reserve in campus libraries. Moffitt Library and the subject specialty libraries handle reserve materials for undergraduate courses; Graduate Services in Doe Library and the subject specialty libraries handle reserve materials for graduate courses. Requests are processed in order of receipt. Because of staffing levels and the current volume of reserves, faculty are advised to submit reserves requests well in advance of the start of the semester.

Photocopied materials placed on reserve must comply with University policies on fair use of copyrighted works. See the University of California Copyright website, particularly "Using Copyrighted Works," for more information about the fair use of copyrighted materials.

Instructors may place personal copies of texts on reserve, but the Library will not assume responsibility for lost or damaged copies.
Instructions for placing materials on course reserve at are available on the Library web site.

For video and other media materials, consult the Media Resources Center.

Faculty who use bSpace can have information about print materials that have been placed on reserve through the Library's GLADIS system displayed within bSpace by making a link from bSpace to "Course Reserves."  Detailed instructions for adding a link to library course reserves are available from the Educational Technology Services web site.
