What do we do when a student and I have a disagreement we cannot settle? prev next

If you and your student cannot resolve your differences, you may wish to discuss the situation with your department chair. You may also consult the Faculty Ombudspersons (642-4226) which are charged with mediating complaints. You, as well as the student, may individually and confidentially contact the Office of the Ombudsman for Graduate and Undergraduate Students and Postdoctoral Appointees (642-5754). The Ombuds must adhere to University regulations and policies; for example Ombuds cannot change a grade, rescind a library fine, or set aside a charge of plagiarism.
