The Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) is the official student governing body. It represents all students at the University, undergraduates and graduate students. Through its elected officers and Senate, the ASUC functions as a forum for student views and as the official student voice in University and community affairs. The ASUC's elected officials include five executives (President, Executive Vice President, Academic Affairs Vice President, External Affairs Vice President, and Student Advocate) and 20 senators.
The ASUC funds more than 200 student groups serving both campus and community needs. Major ASUC contributions include a 24-hour library in the seventh floor of Eshleman Hall, grants provided by the Academic Affairs Office, and numerous campus wide projects that bring students together. The ASUC offices are located on the second floor of Eshleman Hall.
As the graduate student government, the Graduate Assembly (GA) is composed of representatives from every graduate and professional degree program/department and speaks and advocates for UC Berkeley graduate and professional students. Projects sponsored by the GA include the Graduate Support Services Project, the Outreach Project, the Graduate Minority Students' Project, and the Graduate Women's Project, as well as The Berkeley Graduate magazine. The GA also has grant and funding programs to fund graduate student groups and individual travel. The GA's offices are in Anthony Hall (also known as the Pelican Building).
