The ASUC (Associated Students of the University of California) offers funds to ASUC-sponsored groups and for student-initiated academic initiatives.   The Office of Academic Affairs offers grants for academic travel and research, collaborative student group events, and student-initiated courses through the Academic Opportunity Fund, the Intellectual Community Fund, and the Educational Enhancement Fund. There is an application process and deadline for each type of grant; for more information check online.

The Graduate Assembly (GA) (642-2876) provides funding and grants for graduate student groups and individuals, including Educational Improvement Grants which provide up to $1,500 for graduate student-initiated projects such as student-taught courses, speaker series, and educational publications.   Other GA funding opportunities include travel funds, grants for events and operational expenses, campus diversity grants, and community service grants.

Registered student organizations that engage in ongoing community service projects are eligible for Student-Initiated Community Projects grants through the Cal Corps Public Service Center.  Organizations apply in spring semester for sponsorship the following academic year.  For more information call 642-5429.
