Faculty members who wish to obtain a Central Campus or Faculty/Staff parking permit should visit the Parking & Transportation website or visit the office at 2150 Kittredge Street (643-7701) for information about fee schedules and structures. Included in monthly permit rates is a nonrefundable Transportation Fee that supports alternative transportation programs. Annual parking fees for career employees are collected through payroll deduction and are pre-tax.
Disabled parking (DP) is granted to employees with permanent and temporary disabilities. Faculty and staff purchase regular parking privileges at the level they need or for which they are eligible, and then display with their UC permit the State of California DP placard for permanent or temporary disability. This combination of UC permit and DP placard allow parking in designated DP spaces and other regular campus parking spaces. See the P&T website for more information.
Carpool Permits may be purchased by any faculty, staff, or student on the Berkeley campus as an individual. Two or more of these permits must be displayed side by side in order for the carpool status to be valid. Carpool status entitles you to special reserved spaces in lots and reduced parking fees. To find a carpool partner go to 511.org.
Vanpools are defined as eight or more people traveling to work together in the same vehicle. All members of a vanpool, including the driver, are exempt from the transportation permit fee. Check Transportation Alternatives or call 643-7701 for assistance with carpool or vanpool information.
Motorcycle permits are also available at the Parking & Transportation Office.
