What services and resources are available to faculty? next

The campus Computing & Communications website is a primary reference for information technology resources on campus; it includes a specific page for faculty. Four units provide campuswide support for information technologies:

Information Services and Technology, UC Berkeley's information technology support unit, provides general computing and communications services, including internet access and e-mail, data and voice networks, academic systems, student and administrative systems, software, computer labs, computer store, and computer support.

UC Berkeley Libraries provide on-site access to print and digital collections and off-campus access to digital collections and services via the web. The Library also provides a wide array of drop-in and course-integrated instructional sessions related to the critical assessment and use of library and web resources.

Educational Technology Services is the central campus resource supporting the faculty and campus community in the effective use of technology in teaching, learning and multimedia communications, on websites, in classrooms and at meetings and events.

IT security for electronic communication resources is centrally coordinated by the Campus Security and Privacy Officer, who reports to the campus Chief Information Officer (CIO). The Campus Information Security and Privacy Committee (CISPC) has policy overview responsibility.

Your own college or department may provide its own computing facilities and support services. Check with your department to see what it offers.
